Planet eStream enables any organisation to create a central archive of multimedia content which can be readily retrieved and viewed via the local intranet or the World Wide Web. All that the end user requires is a web browser and Windows MediaTM Player running on a suitable platform.
The organisation would typically populate the Planet eStream archive with a combination of existing multimedia content and newly acquired material on an ongoing basis. The Planet eStream 4.5 solution provides the ability to store up to 3,500 hours of video rich content as standard.
The emphasis is on ease of use for both the end users and the content creators via Planet eStream’s intuitive user interface.
Visit our dedicated Planet eStream Web Site at http://www.planetestream.co.uk.
Standard features:- Optional features:-Acquisition using the Planet eStream Encoder Station
Record - Probably the most commonly used feature of Planet eStream is the realtime capture of video and audio. This is typically from a variety of sources such as DVD or VHS players, camcorders, live TV and freeview / satellite decoders.
Recording is performed using the Planet eStream Application running on the Planet eStream Encoder Station. This controls the capture process, logging information into the database, trimming surplus content and subdividing clips into chapters. The application also provides the facility to synchronise Microsoft® PowerPoint presentations with video playback.
Recordings can be scheduled and broadcasted either live or at a later date, as required. Captured content is archived to the Planet eStream Server along with it’s associated annotation - making content easy to retrieve via the Planet eStream Website. Existing Video and Audio files can also be converted, annotated, and added to the Planet eStream Server.
Planet eStream Clients
The fully searchable Planet eStream database allows easy retrieval of archived content on a VOD (Video on Demand) basis via the Planet eStream Website. Content can be viewed as desired and can be displayed via an embedded window in a web page or in the Windows MediaTM Player 9 or 10 application. This content can be expanded to full screen.
Alternatively, links to content may be advertised via web pages or email.
Content is made available over a local intranet and/or the internet, making Planet eStream a valuable resource for distance learning and VLE applications. Turbo-Charge Your Windows Media Video (WMV) Encoding The Tarari® Encoder Accelerator dramatically accelerates encoding of high quality Standard Definition and High Definition Windows Media Video (WMV), Microsoft’s implementation of SMPTE VC-1.
Hardware-Assisted Acceleration Faster turnaround with hardware-assisted acceleration from Tarari® means film and TV post-production facilities, broadcasters, and IPTV providers can now provide significantly more throughput, maximising the return on encoding resources and while cutting costs.
WMV/VC-1 Encoding Microsoft’s superior Windows Media Video compression technology has made PC HD video possible, now Windows Media encoding Powered by Tarari® makes it practical.
Tarari and Microsoft partnership is your advantage Tarari is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner. We work directly with Microsoft in Redmond to implement algorithms from the Microsoft Windows Media Codec in Tarari’s re-configurable silicon. This partnership safeguards your investment in Tarari technology and ensures the Tarari Encoder Accelerator will maintain compliance with Microsoft’s Windows Media/ VC-1 codecs.
Superior quality encoding Tarari’s hardware version of the highest quality Microsoft video encoding algorithms ensures you always get the highest quality encoded video output – at accelerated encoding speeds.
Tarari does the heavy lifting – and CPU off load Since Tarari’s technology is designed to perform computer-intensive functions such as motion estimation much faster than general-purpose CPUs, encoding is faster. By off loading algorithms which take the most CPU cycles, Tarari technology frees the CPU for other tasks resulting in increased overall system productivity.
Encode multiple streams simultaneously The Tarari Encoder Accelerator provides improved encoding efficiency when encoding multiple video streams using a single Tarari Encoder Accelerator board.
Automatic Seamless Integration The Tarari Encoder Accelerator provides seamless acceleration for WMV/VC-1 encoding applications based on the Microsoft Windows Media Format SDK—without the need for any special scripting or “digital glue.” Simply install the Tarari Encoder Accelerator and the encoding process will be faster!

Osprey 440 - Enabling Multi-channel video capture
The Osprey-440 is a 64-bit four-channel, multi-port audio and video capture card. This PCI-X card can process four channels of full-motion (30 fps) video and audio, from four NTSC or PAL analog sources. The Osprey-440 features Logo/Bitmap overlay/watermark capability, audio gain control, and programmable audio sampling rates. Based on the reliability of ViewCast’s Osprey Video capture card, the Osprey-440 provides multi-source capture through four composite (BNC) connectors on the faceplate plus additional video inputs via internal pins on the circuit board.
Description The Osprey-440 is a PCI card designed to simultaneously capture 4 channels of analog video and / or stereo audio signals. The Osprey-440 is intended primarily for applications where multiple channels of video need to be captured and processed independently. The Osprey-440 is designed to minimise internal PC space requirements by implementing multiple channels per card, and allowing multiple cards in a single system. The channel density enabled by the Osprey 440 allows fewer computer systems to be used for capture of a given number of channels, dramatically reducing total system cost. Additional features of the Osprey-440 include four standard alarm inputs and four alarm outputs and support for them within the Osprey AVStream driver. The Osprey-440 includes 12 additional internal auxiliary audio and video inputs that can be switched in as alternatives to the rear panel connectors, three per channel. These additional inputs are intended for developers who may wish to source audio and video from within their own enclosure or from other auxiliary sources under their control. Familiar features of other Osprey multimedia-class cards have been retained, including options for SimulStream, cropping, watermarking, and audio capture. Multiple cards may be used in a single system chassis. The Osprey-440 is compatible with the Osprey SDK for development of media applications supporting Video-for-Windows and DirectShow.
Key Features: - (4) composite BNC video connectors
- 64-bit PCI-X design
- Full motion (30fps) video capture
- Logo/Bitmap overlay
- Watermark capability
- Programmable audio sampling rates
- Osprey SimulStream
- Osprey SDK for development
- Osprey 440 Developer Guide
- AVStream and VFW driver support (Windows 2000 and XP)
Key Benefits:- Multi-channel audio/video capture card
- Allows increased capture capabilities in a single PC
- Reduces cost of deploying multi-channel video systems
- Supports (4) audio inputs & (4) audio outputs)
- Design offers (12) internal audio/video inputs for increased capture capability
- Customisable feature set.

The Osprey 200 family of analogue capture products is the next step in rich media capture. Combining the ability to capture professional-quality stereo audio with the already proven and recommended video capture capabilities of the Osprey-100, now comes the Osprey-200 family.
The Osprey-210 provides a single card solution and offers a high degree of scalability and flexibility. It is an analogue capture card with BNC or S-Video connectors for composite video, unbalanced stereo audio inputs, and audio loop-back feature for monitoring of the captured source.
The 200 Series is optionally available with the SimulStream and Fluition Smil Authoring Software. Simulstream allows the user to create simultaneous multiple streams at different bit rate speeds through different streaming applications from the same source via a single Osprey 200 series card. One Osprey card, located in one PC/encoding station, can create as many different streams from a single source (analogue, digital or SDI) as the processing power of the that PC/encoding station can handle. i.e. Three streams of 58k, 128k and 384k in Windows Media format and three streams of 58k, 128k and 512k in Real format - all streaming simultaneously, all in realtime, all from just one Osprey card and one PC/encoding station.
Key Features:- - Multiple cards can be used simultaneously in a single system
- Captures full frame video at 30 frames per second
- Supports most popular video and audio APIs
- Professional video connector enhances reliability
- Monitoring of video and audio capture with minimal CPU utilisation
- BNC composite video input
- Audio Loop-back
- Hardware audio gain control
