DeckLink Optical Fiber is the world’s first capture card to include optical fiber SDI connections. DeckLink Optical Fiber is identical to DeckLink SDI, but lowers the cost of using optical fiber SDI, by building optical fiber directly into the card! DeckLink Optical Fiber is compatible with Windows™, Mac OS X™ and Linux™ and features HD/SD-SDI, optical fiber SDI capture and playback, reference input, RS-422 deck control and SD keying. DeckLink Optical Fiber let’s you use common low cost optical fiber networking cable that electricians can install. Optical Fiber is virtually future proof and is the future of SDI video for the television industry.
Built in Optical Fiber The DeckLink Optical Fiber model is the worlds first capture card to include built in optical fiber SDI connections. Optical fiber easily handles long distances, is low cost, and optical fiber cables last virtually forever because you can keep plugging them into faster equipment in the future, and the same cables will go much faster. Optical fiber cables can be installed by your local electrician, and the cables can be purchased from your local electrical wholesaler. That's because optical fiber is used all the time in computer networking, so it's low cost and commonly available! Now you can build a native optical fiber facility!
High Quality For highest quality digital broadcast workflows, DeckLink cards include incredible 10 bit SD/HD-SDI video with low SDI jitter, combined with AES/EBU digital audio with a high performance linear phase digital filtered sample rate converter. Only DeckLink cards provides all the quality you need for the most demanding broadcast environments and ensures your work retains that wonderful film look!

DeckLink Studio features independent connections for SDI, analog component, S-Video and composite video, so all types of external video equipment can remain connected without re-cabling. DeckLink Studio also includes SDI connections that switch between SD and HD, as well as an SD only output that always outputs via a built in hardware down converter even when running in HD. The SD down converted output is great when you need to monitor your work in both SD and HD at the same time. No product on the market today has a built in high quality hardware down converter at this low price point.
The built in 10 bit hardware down converter is selectable between letterbox, anamorphic 16:9 and center cut 4:3 modes, and operates when running in all HD video formats as well as in capture and playback modes. Embedded SDI audio is supported via the hardware down converter and output on the SDI output. When running HD video formats, both S-Video and composite video are output from the down converter so video is always present, independent of what video standard is used.
DeckLink Studio features a 1 lane PCI Express connection that works in lower cost computers, while still retaining incredibly high data speeds to the computer, so it’s perfect for HD video and real time effects.
While DeckLink Studio has powerful HD features, it’s designed to be a perfect choice for customers who only need SD support. Its low cost and compatibility with affordable entry level computers makes it a perfect choice for SD, and if HD is required at any time, DeckLink Studio will instantly switch to HD video. This means DeckLink Studio is the perfect solution for post production and broadcast users even with the tightest budgets. No other product provides as much power for the price as DeckLink Studio.
When doing broadcast work, DeckLink Studio has a built in SD keyer, that allows RGBA graphics to be keyed over the SDI input in standard definition. If external keying is required, DeckLink Studio can also output key on the SD-SDI output and fill video on the main HD/SD-SDI output.
DeckLink Studio also features black burst and tri-sync input and a RS-422 deck control connection for broadcast decks.

More HD Real Time Effects DeckLink HD Extreme’s super fast 10 Gb/s connection plugs directly into your editing software’s real time effects processing. Unlike FireWire products, you get all CPU time for real time effects, so only PCI Express lets you upgrade to HD without limiting real time effects. The higher speed of PCI Express also easily handles advanced formats such as full resolution 2K digital film. Only the high speed PCI Express ensures that when you upgrade your studio to high definition, you get full real time effects.
New 3 Gb/s SDI Connections The new DeckLink HD Extreme is the first capture card to include high speed 3 Gb/s SDI connections. 3 Gb/s SDI is the latest version of the SDI video standard that allows 4:4:4 RGB and 2K film connection with a single BNC type connection. 3 Gb/s SDI runs twice the data rate of normal HD-SDI video, however instantly switches to traditional standard definition and high definition SDI. 3 Gb/s SDI allows 4:4:4 RGB workflow or full resolution 2K feature film quality 24 fps 2048 x 1556 capture and playback. 2K via SDI allows a revolutionary change to feature film workflow as now you can connect film resolution video around your facility using the same familiar workflow as a "normal" video job! Only DeckLink HD Extreme gives you film editing features built in for no extra cost!
Incredible Built In HDMI You'll love the full resolution HDMI input and output built into the new DeckLink HD Extreme. Use the HDMI output for connecting to any HDMI television or video projector for full HD resolution monitoring at much lower cost than a dedicated HD broadcast monitor. Imagine presenting your work to your clients using cinema size large screen video projectors or televisions! Use the built in HDMI input for capturing from cameras with HDMI outputs. Unlike FireWire capture, using the HDMI output of consumer cameras means you get the highest quality uncompressed video from the camera, or you can use the native compression of your editing software, such as uncompressed, JPEG, DVCPRO HD, and ProRes. Unlike FireWire compression, using the native compression of your editing software, combined with high speed 10 Gb/s PCI Express gives you all CPU time for maximum real time effects playback direct to large screen displays and broadcast monitors.
