Workgroup Videohub™ eliminates manual cable patching by connecting everyone together into a fully featured professional routing switcher - which previously only large television companies could afford. Workgroup Videohub™ also includes independent monitoring outputs so you can instantly see any deck or editing system in your facility.
Workgroup Videohub™ has 12 fully independent dual rate SDI inputs and 24 independent SDI outputs that auto-switch between HD-SDI and Standard Definition SDI.
Because most editors love to have "direct from the router" monitoring, 12 of the Workgroup Videohub's outputs are totally dedicated for monitoring. You can even use them to connect consumer VHS and DVD recorder dubbing decks via analog converters such as DeckLink Multibridge™!
Compatibility with all SDI based equipment is assured as all inputs and outputs are compliant with SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 259M, SMPTE 296M and ITU-R BT.656.
Standard Definition or HDTV Compatible
With Workgroup Videohub™ it¨ªs easy to run Standard Definition equipment now and add HDTV equipment as you transition into the future. Workgroup Videohub™ handles mixed Standard Definition and HD-SDI equipment connections on the same router.
SDI reclocking and output SDI slew rates are automatically configured as SDI inputs change.
Industrial Strength Video Routing
Workgroup Videohub™ is a totally professional routing switcher without compromise. To allow easy connection for non-technical users, each input, output, monitoring output and deck control port are grouped into 1 to 12 connection points on the rear panel.
Real Time Video Processor
One of the most exciting features of Workgroup Videohub™ is its powerful real time video processor. Integration with the router is via an additional 2 SDI input and output connections so users can still access all 12 inputs and 24 outputs without limitation.
Real time video processing will allow future upgrades for high quality down conversion, video mixing, logo keying, test signal generation and many other great processing based features. Check the Blackmagic Design web site for details on processing features and software downloads.
Independent Deck Control Ports
12 independent Sony™ compatible RS-422 serial control ports are included as standard. Each port is independently reversible via software control so it¨ªs easy to connect edit stations or decks to any of the 12 deck control ports. Reversible deck control serial ports are ideal when using deck-to-deck editing or deck emulation DDR software.
SDI Reclocking
Workgroup Videohub™ includes full SDI reclocking, critical when connecting long length SDI cables to and from the router.
Dual Link 4:4:4 Compatibility
If you¨ªre running the incredible quality of Dual Link 4:4:4 HD-SDI video in your facility, then you can plug two Workgroup Videohubs™ in parallel for Dual Link 4:4:4 HD-SDI routing.
Software Control
Workgroup Videohub™ is designed for modern video production and uses software based control panels. Control is via Ethernet to the Workgroup Videohub™ host computer. Any computer can be the host and simply connect to the router via USB 2 connection.
Power Failure Protection
For added reliability in critical environments, router connections are preserved on non volatile ram in case of power failure, and when power is restored all
connections recover instantly.
Flexible Installation
Workgroup Videohub™ is fully reversible rack mounting in a compact 3 Rack Unit size. At less than 1 inch deep Workgroup Videohub™ can be mounted front side for traditional installation, backwards for patch panel installation, or on the rear side of equipment racks to save valuable space.
