Finally, the translation power Automatic Duck has long brought to other programs is here for users of Discreet Combustion 3.
With Pro Import Cmb for Discreet Combustion 3 or 4, you can very quickly translate an Avid OMF, Final Cut XML or Premiere Pro timeline (via AAF) into combustion. Importing an AAF*, OMF or XML composition takes just seconds, importing all your media and clips in one step. Supported effects are translated and recreated for you; your timeline is recreated as a composition in Combustion 3, ready for you to take your vision to the next level.
Whether you're creating very complex multi-layered creations in your Avid, Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro system for composition in Combustion, or simply need to treat a single shot, there is no simpler way to pick up in Combustion 3 where you left off in your NLE. In a matter of seconds your edited timeline appears in Combustion.
Not only are your edits translated, your media is imported, all the media referenced by your sequence. This means you can actually slip and trim your shots in combustion without having to go back to your NLE to re-edit and re-export.
When you import your sequence, the layers in Combustion are named after the clips you had in your Avid of FCP timeline. You know immediately what shot is what. No dealing with odd media file names. Collapsed/nested layers turned into nested compositions. Amazingly, your collapsed layers and nested effects are turned into nested composites in Combustion. No need to first explode your nests before you export (from Avid or FCP only).
* AAF import is only available in Windows version of Pro Import Cmb.
